Looking Back

Looking back, I remember who I was and what I used to do.

It all seems so long ago.

Did it matter then as much as I thought?

Does what I do today matter as much as I hope?

I am as unsure of the past and the present as I am the future.

Brain Worms

She didn’t know what brain worms are so I had to explain it to her.

They eat your brain meat and drink the thinking juice.

That’s what’s wrong.  Brain worms.

Hole in the Floor

This afternoon, I noticed a discoloration in the vinyl near the front door to our house and knelt down to get a closer look. One area was humped up and another area was indented. I may not be an engineer, but even I know this is not a good sign, so I decided to press ahead with my examination. A few minutes later, I was slicing up vinyl in the entryway and discovered a hole in the floor about the size of a softball. Water had seeped under the door and soaked the flooring until one area had completely disintegrated and another was swollen.

Absolutely Fed Up

How many times have you gotten absolutely fed up with the behavior of others?  You throw your hands up and say, "I’m done!" and then walk away.

How many times has the Lord been fed up with us?  What would happen if He threw up His hands in exasperation and walked away?

Where would we be without grace and mercy?

I hope he knows how proud we are of them all.

My quiver is full and I am so thankful.
