I Want to be An Ass

The title of this post got your attention, didn’t it?   Now you are waiting to see how I’m going to explain that statement.

In Numbers 22, Baalam’s ass sees an angel and Balaam does not.  There is no reference in this passage where Yahweh opened the eyes of the donkey to see the angel.  There is, however, mention that He opened Baalam’s eyes so that he could see the angel.

I would rather have my eyes open all of the time than have Yahweh force them open so that I can see what is in front of me.

Animals do not suffer the same blindness as humans.  They can naturally see spiritual things that we cannot comprehend without Divine assistance.

Now, wouldn’t you rather be an ass?

Wrong Again

No, I have been writing about you on my blog or anywhere else.

You might not be so concerned about what others think about you if you realized how rarely they do.

Diogenes

George Orwell once said, “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.

Most Christians are entangled in a web of deceit.  Rather than telling the cold, hard truth, they speak what they have been programmed to say.  It all sounds the same.  It all sounds so phony to those who really, really need the truth.

Rather than resorting to programmed Christ-speak or Yahweh-speak or Baptist-speak or name-your-denomination-speak, I dare you to speak the cold, hard truth from your heart, in your own words.  For that is the only way you will ever make a difference in anyone’s life, especially your own.

I will personally throw the penalty flag on the field anytime I hear programmed drivel and identifying clichés.  I will tell the truth whether you want to hear it or not, for one man speaking the truth will make a greater difference than a thousand robots.

But of course, you are not a robot, are you?  You are unique like everyone else and you sound like everyone else when you speak.

Fanning The Fires of Arrogance

Nearly a dozen wildfires driven by powerful Santa Ana winds spread across Southern California on Sunday, killing one person near San Diego, destroying several homes and a church in celebrity-laden Malibu, and forcing hundreds from their homes. Read more here

Big deal.

California is burning again like it has so many times before. To be honest, the rest of the country is sick and tired of hearing about these fires because they just don’t care, and the reason for this apathy is a byproduct of many Californians’ attitude of superiority. It’s a state that cannot manage their finances, their immigration problems, their smog and their moral decay, yet the attitude of its citizens is that of superiority over the rest of the country. They, like some other states, often forget they are part of one country made up of dissimilar states. I say, like some other states, because many living in the east coast consider themselves New Englanders instead of Americans. Yet, I digress.

Goals

Some Christians that have no goals use the scriptures to justify why they accomplish nothing. How sad.

They must think we were born to sit back and watch the world burn around us without doing or saying anything constructive. No one can look at their lives and reference any significant accomplishment.

That is not how we are meant to live.

I’d rather be ashes than dust.
